PRODUCT: Open Bottom

RES offers a 3-sided product that is used as an open bottom detention structure which provides groundwater recharge. It is unique in that it has monolithic foundations with bearing pressures equivalent to those of building foundations. This structure is designed to accommodate earth cover of 6” to 8’-0” above the top slab which allows the water surface elevation to within 16” of finished grade. This product has an inside width of 18’-0” and an inside height that varies from 4’-0” to 8’-0” with standard sections lengths of 8’-0”. These structures come standard with three (3) 3’-0” diameter manhole openings and two (2) end caps. The combination of reduced friction area and maximization of water surface elevation will result in a substantial reduction of overall footprint in comparison to conventional pipe storage systems. These structures may also be installed in parallel to accommodate site conditions.
